It's
Earth Day today! So, although it is generally bad practice for a website admin to tell people to go away, I'll do it anyway!
Take today off! Turn off your Macs (and recycle your PCs), switch off your lights, and go enjoy a good day outside electricity free.
Save the planet!
[Edit: Added link to US Gov's Earth Day portal]
[Edit: As it is no longer Earth Day, I unstickified this thread]

Oddly enough, we're having brownouts here
/me burns some old computers and industrial-grade waste next to a pristene mountain stream

Global warming is a load of old bollocks. It's caused by a cyclical variation in climate. The unproven greenhouse gases theory is being used to whip up a frenzy to distract attention away from the real crises of crumbling morality, culture and literacy.
And the energy consumption of Al Gore's house is roughly 10 times that of the average American's.

So is that any reason _not_ to conserve resources that aren't renewable?
Heck, even if it's just to pad your wallet, turning off your computer now and then can't be a bad idea...
You and I definitely have different opinions on what it takes to confirm a theory.
Peace,
Drew

I turned off my machines and went to the local state park with my family. Waded in the river and caught minnows/grass shrimp with a dip net, cooked some hotdogs on the grill that was there, etc.

I hope that was a solar powered grill and a wind-up dip net.

It was more like a net on a broom handle (as opposed to...?) and a charcoal grill.
