PowerPC Mac Liberation Army

So, hi.

Forum IndexMess Hall

I was banned from 68kMLA. Since the sites are unrelated, I assume it's OK for me to post here.

I like PPC Macs better anyway. Laughing
Uh.....

Over the Core Solo Mini thread?

Ah, reading your current signature over there, I take it it's over that? Have you tried pinging ~tl about it? I know he's "retired" now, but I'm sure he still holds some sway. (Cory5412 and/or Bunsen also might be good ones to 'appeal' to.)

Did you at least get a warning and a request to change the .sig? If not, then an outright banning seems *EXTREMELY* harsh. I mean, if someone was in a pissy mood, maybe a temp ban plus forced sig change would be overkill, but 'within acceptable', but a perm-ban?
Not sure why c_rap is a censored word here. I didn't type the other word starting with s, but that's what it seems like.

Most 4-letter words and other derogatory terms are censored here. There's very little use for those words in polite company.

I don't think it was just one thing; it was more of a build up of different things.

Just what I noticed. But I've noticed that the majority of the discussions at 68kmla aren't what they used to be when I joined up. A lot more "off-topic" stuff. Even perfectly on-topic Mac topics will get derailed. My iMac topic did, so I stopped replying.

The following quoted message is from 68kMLA posted by LCGuy. Funny how they can now post any misinformation they want to without consequence since I can't reply and they can just lock the thread anyway.

I personally think Adoptamac.com is not spam at all and quite beneficical to the old mac community. I see no reason to remove it from your sig.

Keep it in the sig. It's pretty good to have it.

I have a request if anyone here hasn't done so already. Please PM one of the mods and let them know that you disagree with the ban. Maybe they will respond to public opinion.

I am not a bad guy. I just have some strong opinions.

EDIT: My avatar and signature have been removed from my account on 68kMLA. I am not going to draw any conclusions here but I'll let you draw them for yourselves Sad

(Note: This is as a moderator and member of the PPCMLA, not as an administrator/moderator/member of the 68kMLA.)
Please stop campaigning to be un-banned from the 68kMLA. It will not happen.

The 68kMLA is not an authoritarian regime, much as you'd like to indicate that it is. We've been bending our rules for years to let you stick around, turning away while you definitely failed to keep it civil, failed to remove your link when we asked you to, twice, and while I hate to say it, yes, overall attitude is indeed important in some situations, and posting on a web forum is one of them.

Those of us who are mods and admins or former admins at the 68kMLA have indeed received several PMs about the situation. One of them suggested that we let you back on a second chance with a short leash. Unfortunately, the time for that has already passed. In October, 2009, is when that passed.

It's done, and now you've found a new forum.

As Alk said, many of us who are over on the 68kMLA are also over here, and indeed, some of us even have moderator or administrator power over here.

In my mind, the 68kMLA and the PowerPCMLA are very much sister forums. So I would probably proceed very carefully, if the situation were reversed and I had been banned and you were a moderator who has access to the rest of the Internet as well.

It's personally my hope that you can remain here at the PPCmla and not let the fact that you were banned from the 68kMLA affect what goes on here, because despite my personal inclinations, the 68kMLA and PPCMLA administrations teams are separate.

Hm. I personally find Mike's discussion a benefit to the community of 68Kmla and think he should be allowed to return.

Why was there a second time? Should you not have simply done what we asked, and kept the link gone?

This still isn't the place to discuss this issue, but I'd like to point out a few things about the 68kMLA rules, which are available here for anybody who is interested in seeing the full set:
