68kMLA Bandwidth Limit Exceeded

Forum IndexMess Hall

It is now five-plus hours after your post, and the same message is still being returned when the usual URL is invoked. How much later should we try, one wonders?

I wonder if somebody is doing a malicious on the site.
The reference to 'bandwidth' has at least some of the overtones of a DOS attack. But over a dozen hours? That's a lot of zombie computers.

It depends on their host, and what time period the limit takes effect over.

Still doesn't look very good.
It could also be that they've exceeded their monthly allowance of data transfer. If that is the case, I wouldn't expect the site to be back until June 1st.

Peace,
Drew

I was talking to Tom last night, apparently he's still waiting for the host to get back to him about it. From my understanding all the sites on the same host are affected by the same problem - his personal website is, as is RetroChallenge.

It was just a suspicion. I did say that I thought it was just the simple fact that the bandwidth for the month was exceeded, but it just seemed a little unusual because it hasn't happened very often. Plus the fact that the host hadn't gotten back to him yet got me thinking it might have been something else.

Of course, it could also be that since it's the weekend, they're taking longer to get back to him. This is all speculation, but until we hear from Tom himself, aren't we all just doing the same thing?
Good to see that Tom is on top of the problem,a s much as he can be.
