no gui on boot

Forum IndexMac OS X

I upgraded my video card to a radeon 7500
and pulled out 9200 pci

booted into 9.2.2 every thing looked great. I tried to boot in os x and all i got was darwin dsb login no gui how did that happen Sad
i installed a agp 7500 in my quicksilver

so i pulled the 9200 pci card to put in my b&w

this caused the problem i re installed the 9200 and my machine boots right up . so how do i uninstall the 9200 graphics card.
So you are saying that when the Radeon 9200 (PCI) is installed in the QuickSilver, the Radeon 7500 (AGP) works as it should. But when you remove the 9200, the QuickSilver boots to Single User (command line interface) mode?

What happens when you hold down the Shift key at start up?

Have you tried running the ATI installer to uninstall the Radeon 9200 drivers? I don't know why it would really matter, though, as the software ought to be smart enough to figure out what drivers to load and what drivers to not load...

Peace,
Drew

Power to the PowerPC!
i did try a safe start same thing single user mode.

also if i put the 9200 back in it will start fine

if i pull the 9200 and start up soon after pulling the 9200 it will boot into the gui correctly

i have done this several times but let the machine set over night and you are back to single user mode.

i have command option pr zapped the pr ram and i have unplugged the machine and pushed the cuda button for 5 sec.

none of these actions have helped

i do not have a uninstall
