Permission to use a signature

Forum IndexMess Hall

Hi
This is basically addressed to the admins. My brother inlaw, an old "Sunbury Festival hippy" recently put his business online. He asked me to post in a forum or two using his link in my signature. I thought fair enough but I just want to get permission first....due to the nature of his business, its not everyones cup of tea!

Is it ok if I have a signature like this an maybe make 3 posts in this forum?

Thanks for your time, sorry if this post bugged you!

I'm going to go ahead and say no. I won't delete this post, but basically everybody on this forum reads every post.

Thank you for asking instead of just spamming around, and if you are actually here for the PowerPC-based Macintoshes, then feel free to hang around, but my advice would be to not post the link just for the sake of posting the link.

The gods of Google will incur their wrath upon those who do so, with the intent of raising their page rank.

I'm highly suspicious of posts of this nature. Until I see more posts from this user relating to Macs, I will assume this user is a spam user. The link was removed accordingly.

Peace,
Drew

Personally, the fact that the link was already included in a thread and that the user didn't PM any of the admins (at least to my knowledge) before posting the link leads me to believe that the poster is actually a human spammer or a really good spambot.
It would appear to be a really good spambot. After searching, I found a bunch of profiles on various forums the thing has created, one of which on the top appears to be activated/used. The rest have 0 posts, SO FAR.

HA! Check, and mate! Razz
User deleted and name disallowed.

The anti-spam mod I installed seems to work pretty well. Only one in 402 registration attempts made it past.
