I acquired this a few weeks ago, and as of last weekend it's been running as a web server. There isn't much of a site yet as I'm too lazy to make one. You can access it here:

You definitely get some geek cred for that, and more for using Mac OS 7.6!
I forget, does 7.6 include Personal Web Sharing? I know OS 8 does. You could install 8 on the 7200 and run an all Apple setup...
On the other hand, PWS has some drawbacks. It's got some memory leaks with CGI, I've heard. But it's really easy to setup and administer.
Peace,
Drew

I don't know if it has personal web sharing or not. I used Netpresenz 4.1 to serve the site.

Well, I decided to shut it down. There wasn't much point. My collection can be served easier on Googlepages, plus my dad doesn't like me having it running 24/7.

That's a shame. Still, you gained a little experience running a web server.
The power considerations are real. I run two websites on a 9600 <
http://ppcmla.dyndns.org/> and a 9500 <
http://ppcmla.dyndns.org:81/forum/> out of my basement. The electric bill for the two of them is pretty ugly. That was a big factor in my decison to move to the new domain with a dedicated webhost.
While there is a certain amount of caché to be had in running a website out of your own house, it often just isn't practical. I'm glad to see you haven't lost your online presence, though!
Peace,
Drew

I already had the site on googlepages, and planned on moving it, but I decided against it. Click the www link at the bottom of this post to see my current site.

Or the link in my sig.

I was gonna run my site off my B&W G4, but .Mac works for me.
