Multiprocessor Macs and Linux
Anybody run the twain together?

I've still got that Daystar processor card that I want to do something cool with, and I'm thinking - because I've been on a *ubuntu kick lately - that it would be fun to drop some flavor of Ubuntu on it with a MP-support-enabled kernel...

Has anybody else here done that and have any pointers to share?

Peace,
Drew

Ubuntu on Old World Macs is possible, but not without some blood sweat and sometimes even tears. Razz

Debian might be a better candidate for this SMP Mac.
Aye, on a 9500/180MP - Debian looks like this

Not much to share, other than the current debian kernels are all SMP anyway, it runs, and it runs a good bit better than a single CPU machine Smile.
